Emissary - Someone sent on a special mission as a representative.
Why Emissary Air?
The name Emissary holds a dual meaning. As Christians, we are called to share the love of Christ with those around us. As flight instructors, we are called to joyfully teach others how to fly with the highest level of professionalism and care.
The flight training industry has changed significantly in recent years. With airlines facing a pilot shortage, many flight instructors now use instructing as a stepping stone to accumulate flight hours rather than as a dedicated profession. While this isn’t inherently a problem, it does present challenges to the training environment. The result is an influx of inexperienced instructors, many of whom view teaching as a temporary role rather than a long-term calling. Career flight instructors are becoming increasingly rare.
At Emissary Air, we take a different approach. We believe in student-centered training—prioritizing your goals, not just our own. As a Christian, loving your neighbor means helping them on their journey where you can, and for us, that means providing safe, high-quality, and meaningful flight instruction.
Professionalism isn’t just for aspiring airline pilots; it’s for all aviators. A professional mindset enhances safety and confidence, whether you're flying for recreation or pursuing a career in aviation. At Emissary Air, we are committed to cultivating that mindset in every student we train.
Thomas Eaton
My passion for aviation took root in childhood, sparked by countless hours at the local airport and the awe-inspiring airshows I attended with my family, where I witnessed some of the finest airmanship imaginable. I began flying in 2018 while still in high school and later pursued a degree in Aviation and Aerospace Science at Metropolitan State University of Denver. After graduating from MSU Denver, I obtained my CFI and CFII certificates to pursue aviation mastery.
I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today without the many amazing instructors and mentors I’ve had along the way. Their guidance has been an instrumental part of my journey, and I’ll be forever grateful for their impact on my career.
Since becoming a flight instructor at the start of 2023, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring many students and helping them achieve their own aviation goals. Watching my students succeed in this industry has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m very blessed to be a part of their journey.
As I continue to teach, my main wish is to give back to the community in the same way many have for me, inspiring the next generation of aviators to share in the love of flight.
